Cafe talks is a mini-program that focuses on learning and connection

The project Introduction

BACKGROUND

Young Chinese are now identifying themselves as “neijuan”, which means involution. Many of them are actually aware and not happy with it, they wanted to learn and get connected, but lack community learning channels and flexible time choices. Cafe Talks is a solution for them. Cafe talks is a mini-program with easy steps on registration, and a focus on community-based learning and social connection, people can use their lunch or dinner time to learn something new and meet like-minded people.

I designed Cafe Talks to help my friends to have a high-quality social connection time, many of them are in different fields, some are in management, some are in Finance, some are in creativeness, but all of them want to learn and be social. They complained about the lack of social connection channels that are safe and specialized, and flexible.

By host a discuss talks in a cafe, people are having drinks, or lunch, or dinner together is an excellent way to meet people, learn, mingle, and connect.

RESEARCH

I did interview research on 100 young professionals who work in city downtown offices, 70% says they wish to use their lunch break to discuss and learn field topic, and  78% says they would like to meet new people while a meal, and 59% say they would immediately register cafe talks if it is launched, 30% says they would consider to use it, and 11% says they are not sure it will work.
